Life is too short....
I have recently reconnected with an old friend and was motivated to review some journals that I had written, yet never before read. It was very interesting what I read and what I wrote back then. We go through so much and seem to change even more so as we experience the various incidents in our lives. What is weird is that most of the stuff that I wrote about... Since it is from when I was a teenager and into my Navy career, it is clearly not the most well written, however, it gave me insight as to how I am the same and how I have also changed. Of the things that I have realized is that the negatives tend to be forgotten more than the positives, which is probably associated with our ability to survive. A huge part of survival is self preservation and realizing that the negatives tend to hold us back, I merely remembered the positives. However, reading about the negatives actually made me realize how strong I am and how I have endured, survived and dealt with the circumstances in my own way. So, I suggest to write a journal so that we never forget our past and so that we can truly capitalize on our accomplishments that we make in life.
